About

Ali Gillani is a Toronto-based accountant, entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist known for building businesses centered around financial discipline, responsible growth, and long-term community impact. As the founder of Soberman Goldstein & Associates and the Truman Foundation, Gillani combines entrepreneurship with a strong commitment to philanthropy and social responsibility. Born and raised in Toronto to immigrant parents, Ali grew up in a household that emphasized discipline, humility, education, and family values. His father worked in finance and accounting and became an early mentor who introduced him to principles of financial responsibility, integrity, and business ethics. His mother reinforced the importance of compassion, generosity, and maintaining perspective regardless of success. Ali attended Ryerson University from 2006 to 2010, graduating with honours in Accounting and a minor in Business Law. Following graduation, he obtained his accounting credentials and began building his professional career within finance and business consulting. He later founded Soberman Goldstein & Associates, an accounting and consultancy firm serving clients throughout Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. The firm focuses on financial clarity, compliance, operational stability, and strategic growth for businesses across multiple industries. Ali’s leadership philosophy emphasizes long-term planning, integrity, and disciplined execution. Beyond accounting, Ali expanded into several entrepreneurial ventures spanning hospitality, healthcare, and international real estate development. His portfolio includes ownership interests in restaurant concepts such as THG’s Hot Chicken, Osmow’s franchises, Crema, and Shahs of Kabob in Miami, Florida. He is also involved in healthcare through Healthy Heart Clinic and maintains an active role in real estate and development initiatives focused on sustainable growth and long-term economic value. A central part of Ali’s work is philanthropy. Through the Truman Foundation, he supports humanitarian relief efforts, sustainable development, poverty reduction, and empowerment initiatives for underserved communities. The foundation prioritizes long-term solutions designed to create opportunity, dignity, and self-sufficiency rather than short-term assistance alone. Ali’s philosophy around business and philanthropy is deeply influenced by faith, family, and stewardship. He believes entrepreneurship carries a responsibility to positively impact others and create opportunities for future generations. His approach to success focuses not only on financial outcomes, but also on reputation, family legacy, community contribution, and the long-term value created through responsible leadership. Outside of business, Ali enjoys sports, travel, fitness, studying global markets, mentoring young professionals, and participating in faith-based community initiatives. He values lifelong learning and actively seeks opportunities for growth through mentorship, reading, and exposure to international business environments. Today, Ali Gillani continues expanding his business interests while remaining focused on balancing entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and family values through a disciplined and purpose-driven approach to leadership.
